The creators of Métiers d’art, artisans of an Occitan spectacle

After several months of design, the furniture for the show “Marcelle à l'oreille” is beginning to take shape.

Since the end of 2024, the Park has been supporting the Lilo Company, originally from Dordogne, in the creation of the furniture for the show “Marcelle à l'oreille”, created by Émilie Esquerré around the work of Marcelle Delpastre. Poet and peasant, emblematic figure of Limousin, Marcelle Delpastre celebrated landscapes, agricultural gestures and local traditions. To invite the public to experience her work, the company called on the Périgord-Limousin and Millevaches en Limousin Regional Natural Parks, as well as the Institute of Occitan Studies of Limousin to imagine and make create the “huts” in the heart of which the actors will whisper Delpastre’s poems to the public's ear. With one obvious fact: call on local resources and creators of artistic crafts, numerous in the territory and heirs of know-how to be preserved!

The construction of a first “whispering hut” was thus launched in March. Six professionals from the Arts and Crafts sector collaborate on its creation : Vincent Dupont (Chalais) designed six screens that Laura Gourmel (Marval) currently dresses in embroidered fabrics, Alain Dupasquier (Aixe-sur-Vienne) of splint, Lisa Doumain (La Chapelle-Montbrandeix) of chestnut basketwork, and The Shepherdesses get tangled up (Corrèze) of felted wool. A second hut, made mainly of heather and chestnut is also being manufactured, by the company's own hands.

The show will be available on August 3 at the Les Carrioles de Flavignac festival, before touring throughout Occitan territory.
