Tourist offices meet for a “Breakfast”

Updated January 17, 2025

For 2e For the next year, the Park brought together tourist offices (TOs) and institutional tourism partners in the area for a start-of-year “breakfast” on January 16 in Firbeix.

This format, as friendly as it is productive, allows us to bring together representatives from each structure and discuss our respective projects. The meeting on January 16 brought together 16 people from 7 of the 8 tourist offices in the Park, as well as a representative from the Dordogne Department and 2 Park agents.

The morning began with a round table presentation and formulation of wishes for its structure or territory and continued with a time of feedback on topics such as the use of mobile applications for hiking and the creation of interactive maps via open source, the new organizations of the TOs within their respective groups and teamwork, the animation of networks of eco-committed actors or even budget cuts in 2025 and their consequences. This time allowed the different participants to exchange advice and useful contacts to go further.

Subsequently, each structure was able to to evoke a flagship project through a brought object. In the news: a move and work for the new tourist office in St-Yrieix, new common communication tools for the tourist offices grouped in Périgord vert, a new Terra aventura geocaching trail for the Val de Vienne tourist office, support for the Tourism and Disability label for the Nexon-Monts de Châlus country tourist office, the priority given to sustainable mobility, particularly around cycle routes/greenways for the Dordogne Departmental Council and the integration of the Great Loop of the Park on the DORIE application for the Park.

After these rich exchanges, the next meeting was set for the beginning of April for an educational tour day and the traditional Park leaflet exchange. This day will be organized in partnership with a local tourist office, at a location that remains to be defined.
