Tourist offices meet for a “Breakfast”

For the 2nd ^consecutive year, the Park brought together the tourist offices (TO) and institutional tourism partners in the area around a "breakfast" at the beginning of the year, on January 16 in Firbeix.

This format, as friendly as it is productive, allows us to bring together representatives from each structure and discuss our respective projects. The meeting on January 16 brought together 16 people from 7 of the 8 tourist offices in the Park, as well as a representative from the Dordogne Department and 2 Park agents.

The morning began with introductions and the sharing of wishes for each organization or region, followed by a session to share experiences on topics such as the use of mobile apps for hiking and the creation of interactive maps using open-source software, the new organizational structures of tourist offices within their respective groups and teamwork, the management of networks of eco-conscious stakeholders, and the budget cuts expected in 2025 and their consequences. This time allowed the various participants to exchange advice and useful contacts for further development.

Subsequently, each organization was able to present a flagship project through an object brought to it. Among the news items: a relocation and works for the new tourist office in St-Yrieix, new common communication tools for the tourist offices grouped in Périgord vert, a new Terra Aventura geocaching route for the Val de Vienne tourist office, support for the Tourism and Disability label for the Nexon-Monts de Châlus tourist office, the priority given to sustainable mobility, particularly around cycle routes/greenways, for the Dordogne Departmental Council, and the integration of the Grande Boucle du Parc on the DORIE application for the Park.

After these rich exchanges, the next meeting was set for the beginning of April for an educational tour day and the traditional Park leaflet exchange. This day will be organized in partnership with a local tourist office, at a location that remains to be defined.
