Coming together to break down barriers

Updated the 11 April 2025

On Thursday, April 10, the Tourist Offices (TO) of the Périgord-Limousin Park met at the initiative of the Park for an “Eductour” day intended to strengthen cohesion and links between the structures of Haute-Vienne and Dordogne.

Discuss network news

With the tourist season just underway, the Park wanted to organize a friendly gathering for tourism professionals, bringing together organizations from the Dordogne and Haute-Vienne departments, which are part of the Park's territory and who rarely have the opportunity to meet, even though their leisure offerings are so close together . Twelve participants attended this meeting, coming from Nontron to Nexon, Thiviers to Rochechouart, Châlus to Jumilhac-le-Grand, and Varaignes to Oradour-sur-Vayres. The Dordogne Departmental Council's tourism department was also represented at this event, organized in partnership with the Pays de Nexon – Monts de Châlus Tourist Office.

An initial exchange session allowed the teams to introduce themselves, discuss their internal organizational changes, and share tourism news from their respective regions. The Park's role was clarified following the evolution of its "tourism" mission, scheduled for early 2025. Afterwards, the traditional brochure exchange allowed participants to share promotional materials and present their new publications for the season.

Discover the nearby tourist offer

Later that morning, the participants took advantage of the beautiful weather to visit the leisure park . Guided by Manon, they discovered or rediscovered the many activities offered on site. Espace Hermeline is indeed the largest outdoor activity center in the Park's territory and welcomes more than 20,000 visitors per year (excluding swimming). The possibilities are numerous: rail biking, zip-lining, treetop adventure courses, swimming in the pond, fishing, mini-golf, a miniature train, Terra Aventura geocaching trails, orienteering courses, and camping.

The meeting concluded with lunch in Châlus. It was also an opportunity to discover recommended places to eat and drink for visitors, depending on their preferences!
