My town at night
The Périgord-Limousin Regional Natural Park still has a quality night, in comparison with certain more urban areas, but this quality is weakened by dispersed housing and unsuitable uses of lighting, particularly with regard to public lighting. This is why the Park, supported by the Nouvelle Aquitaine Region and Europe, supports 4 volunteer municipalities with the “My commune at night” project.
The objective: to support 4 voluntary and motivated municipalities in improving nocturnal biodiversity and the construction of dark grids in a participatory approach.
Following a call for applications at the start of 2021, 4 municipalities were selected for this project: Marval, St-Pierre-de-Frugie, Nexon and St-Yrieix-la-Perche.
Each municipality has adopted the project in its own way in order to establish links with the inhabitants and partners of the territory.
Launch evenings for the general public took place in September 2021 in order to present the project and raise questions about the night thanks to the show “Le Tarot de la nuit en Périgord Limousin” by the company Midi à l’ouest (co-produced by OARA – Artistic Office of the New Aquitaine Region)
