Coming together to break down barriers

On Thursday, April 10, the Tourist Offices (TO) of the Périgord-Limousin Park met at the initiative of the Park for an “Eductour” day intended to strengthen cohesion and links between the structures of Haute-Vienne and Dordogne.

As the tourist season has just been launched, the Park wanted to organize a friendly event for tourism stakeholders, in order to bring together the structures of Dordogne and Haute-Vienne, which are part of the territory of the Park, and which have little opportunity to meet elsewhere, even though their leisure offers are all nearby. 12 participants took part in this meeting, coming from Nontron to Nexon, Thiviers to Rochechouart, from Châlus to Jumilhac-le-Grand, from Varaignes to Oradour-sur-Vayres. The tourism service of the Dordogne Departmental Council was also represented at this meeting organized in partnership with the Pays de Nexon – Monts de Châlus Tourist Office.

An initial discussion allowed the teams to introduce themselves, to talk about their developments in terms of internal organization and tourist news from their respective territories. The role of the Park was clarified in particular following the evolution of its “tourism” mission, at the start of 2025. Subsequently, the traditional leaflet exchange allowed participants toexchange their promotional documents and present their new publications for the season.

In the second part of the morning, the participants took advantage of the glorious weather to do a visit to the leisure center. Guided by Manon, they discovered or rediscovered the many activities offered on site. The Espace Hermeline is in fact the largest outdoor activities center in the Park territory and welcomes more than 20 visitors per year (excluding swimming). The possibilities are numerous: rail bike, zip line, treetop adventure course, swimming in the pond, fishing, mini-golf, little train, Terra Aventura geocaching course, orienteering course and camping.

The meeting concluded with lunch in Châlus. It was also an opportunity to discover the good addresses to recommend to visitors according to their expectations!
