Food & Wetlands: what synergies?

Updated July 1, 2025

The Park was approached by the France Projets Alimentaires Territoriaux (PAT) networks in France and the French Chambers of Agriculture to speak at an online seminar entitled: “PAT and wetlands: what synergies?”. Nearly 80 participants took part in this discussion on the links between wetland preservation and food relocation. Alongside two other PAT-supporting territories, very different from Périgord-Limousin (Angers Loire Métropole and the Pays de Saint Omer), the Périgord-Limousin Regional Natural Park presented its actions in favor of sustainable food, carried out in line with local realities.

Launched by the Park in 2017, the Périgord-Limousin Territorial Food Project allows us to carry out numerous actions each year promoting short supply chains. From raising awareness among families, schoolchildren and chefs, to creating farmer ambassadors, including running the wetlands assistance unit, this meeting has helped to promote the Park's work at the national level. A great recognition of the cross-disciplinary nature of our approaches.
