Do we belong to a place? Or are we, on the contrary, its ambassadors? Which is master of the other, the landscape or its inhabitants? What language and what words should we use to describe the spaces we traverse and their past? The exhibition "Being from Saint-Yrieix, from Yesterday to Today" tackles these questions to retrace the history of Saint-Yrieix. In four rooms—from Prehistory to the present day, passing through the Middle Ages and the Age of Enlightenment—this inaugural exhibition brings together archaeology, fine arts, porcelain, archives, and interactive displays to paint a portrait of a territory unlike any other.
