Description
This chapel was built, according to researchers, in honor of Saint Roch in 1432 by a pious lady who was then the owner of the place called "la Courrière". This originally rudimentary construction was undertaken in fulfillment of a vow. This person, a notable of the time, had in her prayers asked for the intercession of the Saint on behalf of the livestock on her estates, literally decimated by a contagious disease whose terrible effects were felt throughout the region, for miles around. The Chapel was rebuilt several times, and improvements were made to it, notably shortly before the last world war when it was topped with a modest bell tower.
