Description
The bell tower of the Brantôme abbey church dates from the 12th century. It is one of the oldest campanile bell towers in France. It has the particularity of being an independent building, built on a rocky overhang XNUMX meters high against which the church is built. Its architecture is characteristic of the Romanesque style which flourishes in the Limousin region and is characterized by the use of gables crowning the bays and by a superposition of four recessed floors. Its tip is capped by a quadrangular stone pyramid. Guided tours from February to December.
