Description
Dolmen, or standing stone, is the name given to megalith funerary monuments from the Neolithic era. Covered with a slab, three supports delimit the burial chamber. This funerary monument is erected at the edge of long-distance routes, so it can be seen from the road to the village of La Côte by taking the Dolmen path. It was classified as a Historic Monument in 1889. This tomb is probably 4000 years old, it dates from the beginning of the Bronze Age, between 2000 and 1800 BC. It dates from at least the end of prehistory and may even have been used by other civilizations, such as the Gallo-Romans, traces of which still remain around the monument.
