Description
The Saint Amand church was built in the 1569th century, then was destroyed in 1875 during the passage of Calvinist troops, and was repaired at various dates and finally enlarged in 1926 by the construction of a chapel to the north. Formerly dependent on the Abbey of Solignac, it has been listed as a Historic Monument since XNUMX. The bell tower, made up of a single floor, is decorated with blind arcatures, has an ancient stem with Romanesque walls supported by a flat buttress and thin. Other buttresses with drip edges are less old. On one of them we can notice the arms of the Lambertye family. It is covered with chestnut shingles. In the heart of the town of Marval, the church is backed by the Marval castle dating from the XNUMXth-XNUMXth centuries and which will catch your eye during your walks in West Limousin.
