Description
Dating from the 13th and 15th centuries, the church of Sainte-Marie-de-Vaux has furniture classified as Historic Monuments: a statue of Sainte-Catherine in polychrome wood, a wooden cupboard embedded in the masonry and a monstrance from the Nineteenth century. A huge 15th century fresco covers the vault. This mural forms a complete and homogeneous whole which testifies to our local religious heritage. In front of the church is a Gallo-Roman stele, a monolithic base consisting of a base molded on three sides. Was its function to be a stone of the dead, an altar or would it contain the ashes of a deceased person because the base seems to be upside down? It also appears that it was moved. So what is his secret?
