Description
The village of Boulouneix takes its name from the Le Boulou stream. The Boulouneix church, built in the 1946th century, has been listed on the Supplementary Inventory of Historic Monuments since 1800. The porch is decorated with columns with capitals carved with characters and animals supporting arcades. The choir is decorated with four granite pillars with sculpted capitals. Note the presence of two wall frescoes. A very old cemetery surrounds this charming church. Very old tombs dug into the stone were discovered there in 1000. Popular tradition reports that a XNUMX kg bell was immersed in the Boulouneix abyss upon the arrival of the English during the Hundred Years' War.
