Description
Near the village of Fixard is one of the rare menhirs of Périgord, authenticated by the curator of the Geneva Museum.
It is difficult to date: 5000 or 2000 BC.
The name menhir comes from the Celtic name, men: stone, hir: long (large or long stone).
It measures 2,50 m in height and 1 m in thickness.
It is located on two hiking trails: Piégut-Pluviers (Fixard loop) and Saint-Estèphe (Malibas loop).
