Interpretation panels will allow you to learn more about the Gallo-Roman villa of Nontronneau discovered in 1967 during a drought. Several excavation campaigns were carried out on this site, the remains of which are today covered. The villa of Nontronneau is the best preserved example in Dordogne of the large Roman rural estates which were established at the beginning of the Empire (from the 1st to the 3rd century AD) in the countryside.
“petrucore”. Sophisticated baths, reception and ceremonial rooms, rich colonnades, prove that the place was long occupied by a family from the Roman nobility with an important public function or role.
