The gardens of the Château de Losmonerie

Description

Three gardens, having obtained the “Remarkable Garden” label, are arranged around the Château de Losmonerie:
- a formal and flowery garden around the historic buildings
- a gourmet walk with rare fruit trees and a collection of raspberry bushes
- a wild garden, an exceptional site on the banks of Vienne with its wicker hut (designed by Emmanuel Puybonnieux).
The visitor can taste raspberries of more than 100 varieties.
The castle was built in 1540 by Jean Chantois, elected for the King, in the spirit of a Renaissance house in the countryside (tower, staircase, gallery, chapel). In the following century, Jean de Lubersac constituted the entire court. In the XNUMXth century, officers from the Limoges Finance Office, the Texandiers de Losmonerie, brought the refinement of the XNUMXth century to the interior (tapestry and furniture classified as Historic Monuments, pictorial decorations).
