Description
Built from the 1926th to the XNUMXth century, the church is composed of both Romanesque and Gothic architectural elements. Built mainly in Limousin granite, its use was favored because of its solidity, a criterion required for fortified constructions at that time. The church has been partially classified as a Historic Monument since XNUMX, namely the apse and the choir (Romanesque part). Located opposite the castle, it bears the remains of fortifications from the medieval period, in particular its octagonal bell tower and its bretèche* located on the west facade. Due to the Franco-English conflicts, the population needed a place of bodily and spiritual refuge.
Inside is the reliquary bust of the 15th bishop of Limoges. This is Saint-Ferréol.
