Description
Located in the Périgord-Limousin Regional Nature Park, the Grand Puyconnieux, the highest point of the Monts de Châlus (alt. 498 m), offers a wide and distant panorama towards the Haute-Vienne, Charente and Dordogne. Located on a chain of puys oriented northwest/southeast stretching from Cussac to Dournazac, the site consists of a clear summit kept in grass, as well as wooded slopes (chestnut coppices, conifers and plots covered with bushes). The puy gives rise to numerous springs and its crest corresponds to the watershed line between the Tardoire, Dronne and Bandiat watersheds. An orientation table will help you better locate yourself. Enjoy an exceptional view of the Château de Montbrun, one of the most beautiful castles on the Richard the Lionheart route. Hiking trail and Nordic walking trail nearby.
