Fixard Piégut-Pluviers loop

This route will take you through the centuries, from the Neolithic to the Middle Ages via the Gallo-Roman era.

Route stages

Step 1 - From the call sign located in the stadium car park, go down the road to the right, then left around the bend to the stop sign.
At the stop sign, turn left, then the first right Rue de la Tour. Walk along the square from where you can admire the Tour de Piégut and continue straight on in the alley between the houses.
Leaving the alley, turn right onto Rue Jean Petit, continue for 20 meters and turn right again onto the Roman road.

Step 2 - Go down the Roman road, take the first path on the right.
Continue straight ahead, cross the stream using the small granite bridge.
At the intersection of the main road, turn right, then left on the road at a place called "Terresfroides".
Continue on the road until the crossroads where a restaurant is located. Turn right. In the village, take the first right which leads to a path, then left.
At the next intersection, turn right.
At the exit of the path, turn left onto the road which runs alongside Badeix Abbey.
At the stop sign, cross the road to continue on the path that goes up.
At the edge of the meadow, turn right to join the road. Cross and continue towards the village of Fixard on the C5.
Another option, leave the circuit to take a look at the Fixard menhir by turning left on the road, then right to enter the woods.
In the village of Fixard, turn right and right again to enter a path.
After going alongside a pond, continue on the right.
In the place called Lacaujamet, turn right towards Piégut-Pluviers then first right onto the tarmac path.
Finish the loop along the old campsite and the football stadium.
