Dournazac conservatory chestnut grove

The Limousin Chestnut and Chestnut Association, assisted by the municipality of Dournazac, has set up, since 1996, a conservation orchard of old varieties of Limousin chestnuts.
This safeguard was naturally extended by the creation of a catalog bringing together sheets to present each of the grafted varieties. The chestnut trail offers a discovery of this emblematic fruit of the Périgord-Limousin Natural Park, suitable for all audiences. There you can discover at your leisure, 9 abundantly illustrated informative panels, devoted to the life of the chestnut tree, to the gastronomy of the chestnut, to the conservation of varieties, to the chestnut in history... allow 45 minutes of walk, and bring suitable shoes, the visit is located in a grassy chestnut grove.
