The "circuit of the puys and valleys in the Aixe region" takes you to the banks of the Vienne and to discover a rich architectural heritage. See the Arliquet chapel and the Losmonerie castle. Nearby, don't miss the Mayeras interpretation trail.
Route stages
Step 1 - From the campsite, reach the bridge over the Vienne, stay on the left bank. At the end of the bridge, before the railway line, go down the steps on the left, go under the bridge and take the rue de l'Abreuvoir on the right. Cross the RN21, or avenue De Gaulle, at the pedestrian crossing and take the small street opposite.
Step 2 - Once at the top of the street, turn right onto Rue d'Arliquet, then at the crossroads, continue straight ahead. At the height of the Arliquet chapel, built in red bricks, continue right to the Moulin de l'Or.
Step 3 - Take the path on the left across the meadow and go back up towards the Chantegros subdivision. When you reach the RD20, cross it using the pedestrian crossing then follow it for 50 m before going back up into a meadow. Continue on the road, then on a pretty dirt path. Beautiful views, as you turn around.
Step 4 - Turn left, then 200 m later turn right. Continue to the village of Puy de Mont and cross it.
Step 5 - At the pond, turn left towards Bas Puy de Mont, then at the village, take the road on the right.
Step 6 - At the crossroads of the 4 roads, turn left then after the houses between two fences turn left again. Continue to Puy Némard, take the communal road on the left then a path that goes down towards the place called Chez Derre.
Variant 1: after Pompadour, turn right onto a wide path. Pass under the new road before arriving at Grange Neuve. Join the road, passing close to the Château de Losmonerie. Continue on this small road which runs alongside the Vienne for 700 m.
Step 7 - After the village of Chez Derre, turn right twice and go back up towards Puy de Rignac by road. Then continue on a path on the left which joins the village of Chez Caillaud.
Variant 2: after the village, turn left onto the road and then go along the Age subdivision. At the RD20, turn left and then go down towards the ponds. Go along them and arrive opposite the Arliquet chapel. Turn left onto the road to reach the starting point of the circuit.
Step 8 - Cross the village of Chez Caillaud and reach the banks of the Vienne. Follow the river to the bridge.
Step 9 - Reach the bridge by taking the steps (do not cross it). At the end of the bridge turn right, go along the medieval gardens and return to the starting point, along the Vienne.
