Starting from the Monks' Garden in Brantôme, after crossing the river via the medieval bridge, the route runs alongside botanical gardens on the banks of the Dronne and continues under
Limestone cliffs. The keep of Bourdeilles castle appears on the opposite bank. Numerous mills line the small road, and the river offers refreshing breaks, particularly at Lisle, where swimming is supervised.
Finally the route leads to the Maison de la Dronne, an old mill completely renovated and open to visitors in the summer.
