Piégut is a town located in the Périgord Limousin Regional Natural Park, very famous in this area for its Wednesday morning market which attracts many visitors. You will not fail to admire its tower or more precisely the remains of a circular keep which is the most remarkable monument of the village erected on a rock. This is the only vestige of the castle which was destroyed by the troops of Richard the Lionheart in the 12th century. The hike proposed to get to the Grolhier pond will allow you to discover the granite Périgord Vert. After leaving the village, you will immerse yourself in the forest and walk along several ponds before arriving at the Grolhier pond.
