200 kilometers through the landscapes of the Périgord Limousin Regional Natural Park, in a country where the langue d'oc emerges at the same time as the granite, and recalls the beliefs, the legends which populate the chestnut forests...
This stage will take you from Salles Lavauguyon to Rochechouart;
Route stages
Step 1 - Leave a path on the right, arrive at the tarmac. Turn right, leaving a path on the right again. At the intersection with a white path, turn right. Continue, leaving a path leading to a pond on the right. At the intersection in front of a pond, turn left. Walk along the cultivated land, then turn right and arrive in a hamlet “Chez Forest”.
37 – “Chez Forest”, turn right, cross the hamlet, then at the intersection with the road turn right then quickly take a path on the left. In the woods, at the intersection with a path, turn left then immediately right. Continue on this path until you reach a small road.
Turn left, then 50m after arriving at another small road on the right, take a path on the right. Stay on this path until the intersection with a road, turn left, then continue on the first path on the right. This path runs alongside cultivated land, a pond, before returning to a small road. Take it on the right for 250m then at the entrance to the hamlet “les Nèples” turn left, then leave the road for the path on the left in the bend.
38 - At the intersection with the departmental road, take it briefly to the right, pass in front of the Château de Cheronnac then turn onto the first road (RD87) on the left. Walk alongside the cemetery at the entrance to the village and enter the village of Cheronnac.
Step 2 - At the entrance to the village, turn right onto the RD90, and turn onto a path between the RD and the small road which turns right. Back on the road, cross, and before arriving in the hamlet, take the path on the left which goes around the agricultural buildings. Stay on this path, go alongside a pond then turn left and arrive at the tarmac.
Turn right, pass near a pond, then turn onto the first road on the right. After 200m in a bend, leave the road for a path on the right. At the road, head straight towards the hamlet of “Montoume”.
39 -At the height of the first houses, turn left. Walk along the farms, staying on the left. Arrive at a cultivated plot, go around it by taking the path at the edge of the woods on the right. At the intersection with another path, turn right until you reach the road. Take it to the right, then turn onto the first path on the left after a marked bend. Walk past agricultural buildings, then take the small road on the right to enter the hamlet of “Gaudout”.
In the hamlet and at the left turn, turn onto the second small road on the right. Continue on the path as an extension, then return to the road, turn left. Quickly take a path going obliquely along cultivated land on the right in the bend. Continue straight ahead, and continue on the road opposite for 200m before taking a path on the right. After passing through the forest, the path arrives at a crossroads. Turn left, then continue straight until you cross a larger road.
40 -Turn left, then, before arriving on the RD, turn right, pass between the houses and continue on the path. Cross a first cross road while remaining on the same path, then take a section of the second road on the left before leaving it to quickly find the path on the right.
At the fork in the paths, take the one on the left until you reach the RD10. Cross it and take the path opposite. After passing a farm, turn right onto the path. The path turns into a small road, follow it until the intersection with another road. Turn left, and 150m into the hamlet of “Chabaudie”, turn right (to the left of a house) to find the path.
41 -Cross a forest, then at a house, briefly turn right before continuing on a path to the left which runs alongside the house. Continue on the right until you reach the road. Take it on the left, then, at the wastewater treatment plant, turn right. Cross the stream, then take the road on the left for 200m before taking a path on the right which becomes a street. Continue up to the road, turn right once, and turn right again at the fork. Continue to the Rochechouart church and turn right onto Bvd Carnot.
