From Thiviers station, join the greenway; The path, largely in the woods, with occasional views of the countryside, allows you to admire botanical riches such as oaks, pines and acacias.
Once arrived in St Jean de Cole, visited the medieval village which is one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France. In addition to its historical heritage, in May, the village is colored with thousands of flowers. Garden enthusiasts, horticulturists, all gathered in an enchanting setting, all run by around a hundred volunteers. Each year, a different theme is developed, allowing the presentations to vary, for the pleasure of the eyes.
Route stages
Step 1 - From the station, take the D 707 on the right when leaving the station. Pass in front of the post office and turn right onto “Avenue Frédéric Joliot Curie”, go to the end of the avenue.
Turn left onto rue Edmond Michelet, continue straight ahead, continuing along “Rue Cité du Poteau des Landes”, then “Carrière de Planeau” to arrive at the “Thiviers/Saint Pardoux” greenway.
Take the greenway and after the old Saint Jean de Côle station, exit the greenway on the left and take the “Chez Laroche” road. At the first crossroads, go straight and at the second crossroads, turn left to reach the town center of Saint Jean de Côle.
Step 2 - From Saint Jean de Côle, take the Route du Bourg, at the intersection turn left onto the “Chez Laroche” road, continue straight on until the greenway and take it on the right.
At the end of the greenway, turn right onto the “Carrière de Planeau” road, continue straight on “Rue Cité du Poteau des Landes”, then “Rue Edmond Michelet”.
At the end of the street, turn right into “Avenue Frédéric Joliot Curie”. At the D 707, take it on the left and turn left at the taxi rank to reach the station.
