The Vézelay route is one of the great Jacquaire routes taken by a thousand pilgrims each year who come from northern Europe before entering France and reaching Vézelay, one of the major departures identified for the French routes.
Leaving Thiviers via the Faubourg Saint Jacques, you will pass in front of the Saint Jacques cross. On the way to Sorges, you will come across the Négrondes cross at the entrance to the village then pass in front of the Saint Pierre church. You have now arrived in Sorges, the association's refuge where you can admire the Saint Germain church and its shell-shaped font as well as its modern shell-shaped stained glass windows. Here again, gourmets will not fail to visit the Truffle Museum.
Route stages
Step 1 - From the church, continue rue Jean Jaures and then avenue A. Croizat.
Crossroads N21, cross and take the VC2 then the VC 6 on the right (Corgnac) and 100 meters after turn right onto the sunken path in
descending. The path becomes tarmac, crossroads straight ahead, then at the next T-junction on the right (hamlet of Nouzet). Continue on this small road downhill, then cross the hamlet of Montaugout, to arrive at:
3,5 – Crossroads D 76, turn left then right 100 meters further and left to pass under the railway bridge and climb the stone path opposite. At the asphalt road go left.
4,7 – La Servolle, in the village go down the left onto the path, which leads to a small road, go left then 150 meters further left onto a road. Leave it after 250 meters to turn
right on a path. Continue straight ahead.
7,0 – Boslalégue, crossroads, straight ahead to join the ''route Napoléon''.
Turn left and follow it for 1,5 km then turn right towards 9,5 – Le Pic (Commune of Vaunac)
Step 2 - Cross the village and at the crossroads (Calvary) turn right and immediately left onto a path in the woods. Crossroads go left
then immediately right onto a grassy path. Arrive at 11,5 – Lauzellie, go left then right. Go left on the D73.
Cut the N 21; cross it and go opposite.
12,8 – Négrondes, pass in front of the church to leave the village. Crossroads (Calvary) go opposite towards ''Chez Thèves'', road then path which then turns left and at the crossroads go right on the path towards a small wood; at the end of the path take the road on the left.
15,2 – Carrefour du Pouyet, go right, the road becomes a path. At the exit of a wood after a kilometer turn left along the wood, then right 150 meters further across fields towards the Contissoux farm.
Crossroads turn left onto the road towards:
17,5 – Les Palissoux, continue, arrive on the D8 and go opposite: 18,2 – SORGES Church and Association refuge
