©PEMA RESIDENCE SESSION 3
THIRD DAY OF RESIDENCE (THURSDAY MAY 30, 2024 – DOURNAZAC)
It is in Dournazac, the host town of one of the future creations, that our nine creators met around the Park and the Nontron Artistic Crafts Experimental Center, to present the progress of their artistic approach and discuss on the issues that arise.
Three months now that our creators have been collectively experimenting, within the framework of the residency, with the conditions for a dialogue between an artistic team and the territory in all its dimensions – human, culture, history, know-how, landscapes, geology, resources. – to make our uniqueness an asset for our cultural and tourist development.
The project is taking shape little by little. It draws on their research: site visits (quarries, places to host future creations), research for materials, meetings with a whole ecosystem of actors in the fields of culture, the environment, Occitan, tourism and territorial development. Collaboration is built according to the progress of the project and the questions or needs it raises.
The time has come for the first drawings, plans and models, to decide on the biases, the technical specificities of each of the creations, the materials which will be used, the precise choice of locations in the reception plots, the service providers and collaborators to whom it will be appealed while keeping in mind the eco-design of the project.
The residency continues until October 2024. You won't have decided yet, The way is still long, 'think, Before the project sees the light of day (collection and testing of materials, reflections on the sealing of the works then establishment of the provisional budget, forecast of durability over time, provisional costs of long-term maintenance, prescription, etc.), our creators still have a lot to do. Next spring, all this research will give rise to an exhibition for the pleasure of sharing this artistic adventure with you.
