Promotion of local businesses through the Valeurs Regional Natural Park brand

The Valeurs Parc naturel régional brand is a development tool. It brings together professionals from Périgord-Limousin around common values ​​and supports them in the implementation of practices that respect the environment and share the wealth of the territory.

Make the brand a lever to develop short supply chains of products and know-how

Since 2006, the park has been supporting voluntary companies in order to offer them an approach to progress in terms of sustainable development. 

The Valeurs Parc naturel régional brand is common to all Regional natural parks and available within each park. It concretizes the parks' commitment to another model of society, based on economic development that benefits the territory. The brand offers companies located in a regional natural park the opportunity to engage in collective and supportive approaches, guaranteeing structuring effects in favor of sustainable development.

Today, around twenty professionals benefit from the Valeurs Parc naturel régional brand, in the Périgord-Limousin Regional Natural Park.

Develop the brand for the tourist offer

Since 2015, tourist accommodation providers can join the network of marked professionals. They benefit from individual support from the park (audit, monitoring sheet, personalized advice) and collective support in the form of workshops, training or working groups. These collective times, organized by the park, allow the exchange and sharing of knowledge and good practices.

Develop the brand for food products

The park is gradually developing the range of food products that can qualify for the Valeurs Parc naturel régional brand. For each family of products, specifications are created with binding criteria in terms of sustainable development. Thus, the brand extends, among others: to honey, poultry, chestnuts and its derivatives, dairy products, etc. 

Develop the brand for know-how

The park opened the Valeurs Parc naturel régional brand to chestnut artisans in 2015. It thus supports artisans in promoting their products, sourced from local resources.

The Valeurs Parc naturel régional brand is exclusively reserved for certain products and services from the Regional Natural Parks of France. This is a collective trademark registered by the ministry in charge of ecology, which is its owner. Each park has brand management, with guidance from the federation of Regional natural parks.

It concretizes the commitment of the Périgord-Limousin Regional Natural Park for another model of society, based on sustainable tourism and economic development which benefits the territory. This brand brings to any company that benefits from it recognition of its work, of its respectful inscription in its territory and its environment, and gives it real added value in terms of image. For the consumer, it presents real benefits and advantages: traceability linked to local sectors, carrying a sense of humanity, respect for the values ​​of Regional Natural Parks. By favoring these companies, the consumer actively participates in the life of the area in which he lives, or which he visits.

It is not a quality label that meets specific quality criteria, but the Valeurs Parc brand stamps a product that corresponds to specifications (called a Charter) whose criteria correspond to values.

  • To the preservation and enhancement of landscapes, natural environments and biodiversity : By the choice of raw materials, buildings and production processes, by the nature of the products and services marked, this approach contributes to the protection of the environment and to the ecological and energy transition.

The trademark application takes place in several stages:

  • Request information from the park
  • Submission of application file
  • Enviromental compliance audit
  • Granting of the Mark by the park executive office
  • Commitment to a progress plan and to the life of the network
  • Renewal after 5 years

  • To participate in a network of exchanges and training with other professionals
