Renewable energies

The objective of the Park is to promote the development of renewable energies allowing:

• to meet heating and domestic hot water production needs: solar thermal and wood energy. They find their effectiveness at the collective scale (wood-energy heating networks, collective solar installations, etc.) but also at the individual home scale (wood stove or boiler, individual solar water heater).
• to meet electricity needs, to power our multiple electrical devices. In the majority of cases, the electricity produced is injected into the electricity network, and therefore contributes overall to the renewable part of our electricity “mix”.

There are several project scales:

• individual: for example “domestic” photovoltaic installations,
• collective: photovoltaic solar installations on public buildings, such as on the roof of the Saint-Cyr school or the Champs Romain village hall
• private: several wind farm projects are being developed by private companies in the Park, in Maisonnais-sur-Tardoire, Saint Mathieu, Les Salles Lavauguyon, Milhac-de-Nontron, Saint-Jory-de-Chalais, etc.

A citizen wind turbine on the Pnr

The first large wind turbine in the Park is citizen-owned, supported and financed by locals. Located in Rilhac Lastours, it entered service in March 2014. More information: www.eol87.fr
